The four school age kids all attended summer school.
Three school-agers attended Goodman Community Center Summer Camp as well. Their mom heard many enthusiastic comments from them about the cool stuff they were doing at camp.
Splash Pad and playground at Goodman saw children from Catalyst House often, with much shrieking allowed!
One on one tutoring was instituted for two oldest children.
Backyard was weeded, graded and mulched by Jenny Grether and her gang of helpers. It is now ready for a play set to be installed in mid- September.
Our newest resident, a baby boy, was born July 30. He is beautiful, healthy and much adored by his family. Maybe not as much by the one-year-old twins, but we're working on it.
A van donated by Beth and Mat Gunshor and repaired by David Dewey is in the driveway ready to carry more than one family with groceries and other trips.
A relationship has been established with a five star, NAEYC accredited, Montessori family childcare within a 10 minute drive of the house. Through this partnership, the director stays in touch with Catalyst House current and upcoming needs for childcare and looks for ways to match open slots in their small center to accommodate our children. Currently two children attend.
Two of the three moms are taking classes and one additionally has a job at aforementioned child care, where she is being trained to take on increasing responsibility, with higher wages.
Neighbors help frequently - giving rides, providing meals, childcare, mentoring, tutoring and, most importantly, dogs to pet!
